Macross toy collectors prepare your wallets because this June 2012 Bandai will be giving us 1:60 DX Chogokin VF 171 EX Alto unit – for a suggested retail price of 14,000 yen!

Looking at the pics from the macrossworld forums I believe that this figure is worth every dime!

SRW Z Japanese Version for the PSP out now

I just saw this in one of my friend’s FB post – the Super Robot Wars Z PSP game is now available at Amazon Japan.

Sad to say for fans of the SRW franchise like me, the English version is still not available.

And to make this deal sweeter – Amazon has put this game on sale at 15% off so its only 5900 Yen – again too bad for me who cant order via Amazon Japan hehehehe!

But you know what they say, a true blue SRW Z fan will play this game even if its in Japanese!

And just to add to my misery – here is one screen-shot from the game that would make me want to die right now (being the Gurren Lagann Fan that I am!).

Too Much Macross – YF 29, VF 19 and More

Here are some of the Latest Macross Figures that every collector and anime fan should look forward too!

First up is the upcoming Macross DX Chogokin YF-29, Durandal Valkyrie. This is supposedly a perfected version of the DX-Chogokin line, meaning all forms of the Valkyrie is AOK.

The previous versions had some problems with the gerwalk mode – check the images out!

Now there is also the 1/60 Macross 7 YF-19 Fire Valkyrie – this baby is worth 22,000 Yen

And another DX Chogokin I myself want to have is the Macross F VF 25G Tornado Messiah Valkyrie (Michael Blanc). This is worth 20,475 Yen – and is already available as of February 2011.

It is quite pricey but I think its worth it! Just look at that baby!

Soul of Chogokin size comparison

If you are wondering about the size differences among the SOC’s available right now, then maybe this post can help you. Throughout the years, the Soul of Chogokin figures have introduced evolutions of previously released robots and even downsized some of them by giving us Econo-Chogokins, or the smaller versions with lesser armaments or add-ons.

So as for those still wondering what to buy but is very particular with the size of their mecha collections then check this image out:

Size Comparison for SOC's

As you can see, the new econo-sized Chogokins, Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger, are 2 to 3 inches smaller than the original SOC. Tobikage and Kurojishi meanwhile is still the normal Chogokin size but is also still smaller compared to Voltes V, Dancouga, Daimos and Combattler V.

And for those also collecting Macross Figures/Robots, then maybe I can also show you the size comparison for Yamato’s VF 11B versus SOC’s Dancouga:

New Macross Movie – The False Diva

A new Macross Movie is coming to town and the other good news is that it comes with a Macross game with it! Woot!

This is good news for all mecha fans and PS 3 owners because it is exclusive on Sony’s console. The new Macross Frontier movie is entitled The False Diva and it is coming in a hybrid pack. Meaning you get both the movie plus the PS 3 Macross game. Sweet combination indeed!

Another Century Episode R – Out now in Japan

I have been posting about the much anticipated Another Century Episode R for the Playstation 3 for the past weeks. Needless to say I have been very excited with this new Mecha game for the PS 3 – and yes it has been finally released in Japan!

Based on the website SRW Hotnews, Another Century Episode R or ACE: R is now on sale in Japan as of August 20, 2010. And based on the comments on the site, the game seems to be selling well. I am just hoping that they sell it here soon!! Please oh please!

Anyway while we eagerly await our turn, we can just check out this youtube videos posted by those lucky guys who have the game already! Check em out and drool! lolx!
