DX Chogokin Macross VF-25

Here is another post for all Macross frontier fans out there interested in getting the Bandai DX Chogokin VF 25F Messiah Alto custom. This Valkyrie may be a bit pricey so some would think twice before getting this and opt to have the Yamato Valkyries with super parts since some of them would sell for 6,000 pesos below (or even cheaper if you get a lucky break in toy forums). Others would also go for the VF 25F Super Messiah Alto Custom since you get a more favorable deal.

Ok, with that said, so here is the deal. Getting a Bandai DX-Chogokin means your getting a toy that has a lot of metal parts. This is a plus when choosing between a Yamato and a Chogokin.  Now with VF 25F Messiah Alto custom you get that metal weight factor plus a decent landing gear to effectively hold up its weight. Plus, getting the landing gear out for VF 25F is easy as a breeze compared to my Macross Plus Yamato VF 11B with Super Pack.

The Gerwalk mode for the DX-Chogokin VF 25F leaves me wanting though. The weight that I love so much with this toy is its downfall (Literally) in gerwalk – while it is a strength for the VF 11B Yamato. The latter has better balance in this mode.

But as we progress with the modes, one will find out that the metal foot for the Bandai DX-Chogokin is an extremely favorable improvement for its well balanced battroid mode. With the metal in the legs and foot, I felt a sturdier battroid mode for the Chogokin. Having the super parts on is not a problem at all.

Overall, buying the normal VF 25F Messiah is a collectors prerogative. But I would recommend that for 1st time buyers to settle for the DX-Chogokin Super Messiah Alto Custom version. Besides getting the extra parts a neat Valkyrie stand comes with it so you have more value for your money – its the logical choice.

But if you chance upon the normal version at 40 to 50% off – then by all means, the Chogokin VF 25F Messiah Alto Custom is worth it!
