Soul of Chogokin Mazinger Z GX-45
Dec 29
Earlier made S.O.C.’s like Daimos and GX-31 Voltes-V come in a huge box packed with all their weapons and gadgets as seen in the anime or the manga. My GX 31 Voltes V stood at a towering 10 inches (or almost that tall – I did not measure it exactly) and my SOC GX 43 Daimos is just about half an inch smaller and also came with a whole lot of weapons.
However, as a newer breed of SOC’s come into the fold, a simpler purchase scheme has also been introduced by Bandai to make it more affordable to get into the hobby. When my friend purchased GX-45 Mazinger Z, I was surprised to know that the price was less than half of the price of Daimos, and had a smaller box to boot. But the weight was definitely still spot on.

As explained, the new breed of SOC’s allow you to purchase the basic super robot, with just the basic weapon set and a smaller robot size, roughly 6 inches tall. However do not be daunted by the smaller box. The new SOC engineering boasts of better articulation and design. Based on what I saw with GX 45 Mazinger Z, I would have to say that its definitely worth it. The accessories also is just right for avid mecha collectors. So overall I would have to give this a thumbs up – hopefully they come up with Daizengar of the same concept, and surely I will wrap my arms around that ASAP! lolx!

Hey – nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using WordPress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
